Full-Stack Software Engineer

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, skilled engineer to join our team to help design and implement the future of our application architecture, as well as build new mission-critical features to help our business expand. Ideal candidates should be looking for a small, fast-paced startup environment where they can immediately have a major impact.

Responsibilities include:

• Design and develop new application architecture to suit our growing product, business, and team.

• Write code in our Ruby on Rails backend, React frontend, Postgres database, and third-party API integrations to build features, fix bugs, refactor code, and write tests.

• Taking a creative problem-solving approach to our business, product, and tech problems, creating solutions that directly impact our business goals.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field

• 2+ years of professional experience in a software engineering role

• 2+ years of experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)

• 2+ years of experience developing in Ruby on Rails and JavaScript (preferably with React)

• Strong communication skills and a desire to creatively solve complex problems

 

Bonus Qualifications

Candidates with one or more of the following will be able to take ownership over some of the areas we need most:

• DevOps experience, such as containerization, automation, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure configuration.

• Database expertise, such as having designed and built a mature database schema or migrated data from a legacy system.

• Service-oriented or microservices architecture experience, having designed, built, deployed, and maintained services in a production environment.

• Math or data science background. There’s a lot of potential value we can deliver with our dataset.
